When was the last time we had a late night show that competed with the United States?

I have a TV show idea that is the Late Night format of guests, monologues and bands but with a theme. When you are watching late night shows, because it's late, you should be in bed.

So....You Should Be In Bed: With Steve Dolson

There is a bed on stage and like sitcoms before it, guests get into bed or it can be a bedtime story situation. Then it would have an edgier theme, but not the edgier content. The content would be subjective but clean, and it would be clever situationally, but not raunchy in speech.

Shows like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson actually showcased talent all over the country and it was a career jump for a lot of celebrity stars. So why can't we do that in Canada?

This is my idea for competing against some of the longest running and most popular programs on American Television, and I hope you consider it for your programming.
